This curated journey moves in a beautiful rhythm from the grand avenues and hidden corners of Delhi to the marble hush of the Taj at sunrise, then into Jaipur’s pink-walled glamour and Udaipur’s lakeside calm. Overview

You’ll begin in Delhi with a beautiful contrast of worlds—grand New Delhi boulevards and Old Delhi’s lantern-lit lanes—moving from landmark architecture to spice-scented markets and a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk’s living tapestry. Along the way, there are intimate cultural windows that stay with you, like witnessing the Sikh temple’s community kitchen serving thousands with quiet grace.

From there, the story turns toward romance and craft. In Agra, you’ll greet the Taj Mahal at sunrise—soft light, marble glow, and that unmistakable hush that makes time feel slower. You’ll go deeper than the postcard, too, meeting marble inlay artisans and seeing the meticulous handwork behind the beauty.

Then it’s onward to Jaipur, where the palette shifts to pink walls, mirrored halls, and jewel-toned markets—plus hands-on, home-based experiences like a haveli cooking class hosted by the woman of the family, with recipes that carry real history.

The journey finishes in Udaipur, where everything softens: lakeside views, marble temples, palace courtyards, and a shared sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola with Jag Mandir rising from the water like a set piece.     Today introduces Delhi through its grand design and its quiet power—iconic landmarks, thoughtful history, and witnessing the spirit of community at a Sikh temple.

    Old Delhi is a sensory overload—we will take it all in over our morning—and then shift into relax mode with a restored Haveli visit, a classical Kathak dance display and time to browse for handmade treasures.

    Then it’s on to Jaipur, where we get an opportunity to meet the pink city of Rajasthan.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The trip officially starts on March 15th, but it's a long trip to India (direct flights from NYC are 17 hours) So consider arriving a day early to have time to rest, relax, and adjust to the local time zone. There's an 'Arrive Early' option in the Add-On section, where we will arrange your accommodation for you. 

  • Fly into and out of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi.

  • You're always welcome to extend your stay in India. But if you're flying home at the end of the trip, book an evening flight home from Delhi (DEL). The flight back to Delhi from Udaipur is included in the trip cost, and will get you to the airport around 3 or 4pm in the afternoon.

    If the best flight home from Delhi for you is in the morning, plan on staying an extra day in Delhi so you can comfortably make your connection. We can help to arrange a hotel and a final airport transfer the following day, just let us know well in advance of your trip.

  • The weather in India in in March is considered later Spring is usually warm days, with somewhat cooler nights. The average temperature is pleasant and with lows of mid 60’s and highs of mid 80’s, with low to moderate humidity and with moderate precipitation.

  • We will have a Zoom call about 6 weeks before the trip starts to discuss all that information and give you a packing list.

  • Yes, a visa is required for entry into India. The process is simple and all able to be done online.

    We'll provide you with comprehensive details on how to proceed with your visa application well in advance of your trip.
